QUINCY, Ill. — Roosevelt continued its strong opening to the 2026 season with a 41–28 victory over Quincy. After defeating Chicago State in its season opener, the Lakers scored another 40-plus points in their second game.
Roosevelt generated 41 points against Quincy and finished with a 13-point advantage. Through two games, the Lakers had scored 85 combined points and opened the season undefeated.
The early offensive production gave Roosevelt momentum entering the next portion of its schedule. For a program looking to improve on its previous campaign, a 2–0 start represented an encouraging beginning.
The Lakers' next challenge would come against Southwest Baptist.
DETROIT — Roosevelt responded to its first defeat of the season with a road victory over Wayne State on October 10. The Lakers' official athletics statistics report a 33–18 victory, improving Roosevelt to 5–1 overall and 1–1 in GLIAC competition.
